As the roads thaw and become relatively safe for biking again (at least in the northern hemisphere), it’s about time to strip off the big jackets and replace them with something a bit lighter.
Merrell has a couple vented pieces out for spring that’ll keep the clothes dry and the body cool. To the left is the women’s Hawthorne, a water resistant mesh windbreaker designed for fashion off and on the bike. A mesh lined hood and snap down collar combo will protect the face if weather gets a bit chilly. Pricing is $119 in blue and brown at Merrell’s site.
Shown to the right is the Catalyst, a breathable men’s jacket made street-savvy with reflective material throughout. The cuffs and hood are removable and the jacket’s sewn a tad longer in the rear for bike use. Merrell hasn’t officially unveiled the Catalyst yet, but when it hits stores it’ll retail at $179.
