MET talks about Pogačar inspiring a new generation of cyclists and cycling fans as the embodiment of a new “Golden Era” of professional road cycling. So they’ve created a couple of special edition helmets. And they’ve given them an extra caron – the strešica or little roof accent – to remind us all to pronounce the Slovenian cyclist’s name with a ch sound.
Black becomes Blačk, “symbolizing elegance and authority“, and is accented with gold in reference to an astonishing number of big 2024 victories.
I mean, he won this year’s Road World Championship, the Tour de France, and Giro d’Italia to name just the big highlights. Not forgetting Strade Bianche, Volta a Catalunya & Liège-Bastogne-Liège at the start of the season and then closing out Il Lombardia just a few weeks ago, plus a few more in between.
