Everyone following pro road racing has seen TdF winner Tadej Pogačar with his hair sticking out of the top of his MET helmet. But now with a special Pogačar limited edition of the Trenta 3K Carbon helmet, MET explains that it’s actually the unique (h)aerodynamics of their top-tier road helmet that created the Slovenian’s now-iconic billowing tresses
MET Trenta 3K Carbon Tadej Pogačar limited edition helmet
Let’s make this clear, this is exactly the same Trenta helmet that MET debuted last winter, just now with limited edition Pogačar graphics.
So if you want the real details about MET’s latest vented lid with the lightest MIPS system inside, read about it here. But those special graphics reveal the Hair-Vent tech inside!
Hairodynamics? A haero road helmet?
MET says beyond protection, their most advanced road helmet was designed to “keep your head – and hair – fresh and save precious energy”.
Winning plenty of races, Tadej Pogačar kinda made the helmet a fun story as his hair was almost always sticking out of the top vents – from mid-ride to all of those hands-in-the-air finish line celebrations.
As it turns out, Pogačar’s tufts of hair poking out were the result of the unique airflow designed by MET, saying “What if we told you that Tadej’s iconic tufts are created by the helmet’s performance design, sweeping air in and upwards, and drawing stems of dancing hair out through the vents?”
Basically, by engineering deep internal channels with high-speed Venturi effect airflow through the helmet and out the top “Hair Vents” for comfort, it was bound to have hair sticking out. If you look at Pogačar’s teammates, their hair is often sticking out the top too, they just don’t have as many winning finish line photos as the Slovenian.
