It’s winter outside and the season for fat bikes tis upon us. For those with a taste for American Made Titanium, Santa’s elves are fabricating something special. The newly updated Frosti has a couple of new features that make it perfect for several new innovations trickling down the snow bike pipeline.

The 5″ Frosti’s updated geometry is now designed around a suspension corrected fat bike, in anticipation of new fat bike suspension products hitting the market. In addition, the updated geometry has longer chainstays, so the frame is compatible with 29″+ tires for summer use. The rear end has also been widened to allow clearance for the largest tires and rim combination currently on the market. Moots claims you can squeeze a tire up-to 5″ wide. The designers have also increased the BB height, to give better clearance.

Frames will be available in December. Orders must be placed along with a $1000 non-refundable deposit through your local Moots dealer by November 1, 2013 for delivery by Dec 15th, 2013, but the bike will remain available as a standard offering year ’round.

I have 2 Moots bikes, and they are fantastic at what they do, but unless they can add time travel to their long list of skills, I might have missed the boat on this one.

Does Moots not make enough money to buy hacksaws? Cut that steer tube. You look like amateurs.

Not that I need or could afford this bike, but why post this on Nov 25th when the deadline for preorders is Nov 1st?

I would have ordered 10 for my winter resort rental fleet, but I missed the deadline.

Ditto on the steer tube. I’m all for winter biking where snowpack and or terrain don’t allow for good skiing/boarding, but c’mon would you really rather be bouncing around on that goofy thing at 2mph than skiing champagne pow in the rockies? If i were blessed enough to be situated that close to the mountains I would be shredding not emulating a tractor pull.

Ti is simply not the best material for certain applications (like FS bikes and stems), but someone forgot to tell Moots this.

It looks like this beast is slow and boring. And you have to find a flat trail with old and hard snow.
Better skiing or go with my usual XC bike.

Beautiful. Only complaint about last year’s FrosTi was the lack of clearance for 5″ tires. This looks perfect. When I’m in the market for a fatbike, this will be at the top of my list.

You forgot to mention the total price ($4k just for the frame–fork not included). For that you can get a complete Salsa carbon fatty w/ XO or pay an extra 1k and get w/ XX1.
