Off the bike there’s apparently not a lot of bad blood between the best women mountain bikers in the world. Countering stereotypes that mountain bikes aren’t for girls, these seasoned pros – from 23 year old Anne Tauber to 45 year old Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå – crush it head-to-head on the XC World Cup, but can all get behind the common mission of getting more women & girls on mountain bikes.

#MTBgirls, “Go Out and Ride your Bike!”

Together under the name of the #MTBgirls, these top-level Olympic XCO riders – Maja Wloszczowska (Poland), Jolanda Neff (Switzerland), Annika Langvad (Denmark), Yana Belomoina (Ukraine), Emily Batty (Canada), Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjaa (Norway), Catharine Pendrel (Canada), Anne Tauber (Netherlands), Julie Bresset (France), and Raiza Goulao Henrique (Brasil) – came together to drop their team and national rivalries to promote the sport they love, and tell other women & girls why they do it. Oh, and looks like with 6 previous World Champions in the group, they will have a young American to add to their group for next time with Kate Courtney’s standout Worlds win moving her quite a bit up in the sport’s rankings!

The message from the #MTBgirls, some of the best women in the world on mountain bikes is simple: “Go Out and Ride your Bike!”
