Ready to tell coronavirus to Muc-Off? Soon, you’ll be able to do exactly that with Muc-Off’s first product to be made in the U.S. Spurred on by their Anti-Bac Fight Back campaign in the UK and Europe, Muc-Off is now looking to help out stateside with a U.S.-based hand sanitizer.

Based on the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended formula, the sanitizer has an 80% alcohol content. Muc-Off claims that this kills 99.9% of bacteria and “high concentrations of alcohol destroy disease-causing agents and pathogens.” While Muc-Off doesn’t specifically state that their hand sanitizer will kill Covid-19, studies suggest that the two WHO recommended formulas will kill the virus as long as they are used for 30 seconds or more.

As noted, this is the first Muc-Off product to be produced in the U.S., but Muc-Off plans expand this range of products for both the U.S. and Cananda in the near future. Muc-Off will be donating 10% of the profits from the sale of the sanitizer to the WHO Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund, but will also be donating 100,000 antibacterial products globally to key front line workers – having already started in the U.S. with donations in Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, South Carolina, and New York. That’s awesome, I can’t wait to use it in front of my bike friends and to have my hands smell like blueberries which … damn it! I just sanitized my hands with chain lube by mistake.
