Independent Fabrications was showing off their new Cross Jester, above, a full carbon cyclocross bike. Tube and log construction allows for full custom, and all tubes except head tube individual monocoque moldings.
They also had a one-off titanium mixte and a prototype carbon fiber/titanium Factory Lightweight 29er mountain bike. Make the jump to see them all…
Even though the tubes look round they’re all shaped and tapered (seat tube gets wider at bottom, down tube is “squarecular”). All carbon is made by ENVE Composites. Available as singlespeed or geared, including Belt Drive as shown here.
Frameset is $5,500, available now. Frame weight is between 1000 and 1100 grams. Molly Cameron raced a prototype all season, and it’s passed all five CEN tests for frames, so it’s good to go.
This bike is a one-off titanium mixte buit for IF owner Gary’s wife. Want one? Contact them…they may just make more.
Rear brake cable routing has Nokon housing to help with the extreme “S” bends necessary.
It has the new Phil Wood external EBB
Their Ti Factory Lightweight 29er mountain bike is a prototype at this point and has no set pricing.
This bike has their own steel fork. They can do a tapered steerer tube if you want. The down tube is straight gauge ti with gussets.
The carbon seat tube is a continuous tube that becomes the integrated seatmast. The saddle mount is a ti/alu seat topper with 2.5cm of vertical adjustment. IF says it passes CEN safety standards, and it’s also used on their Ti Factory Lightweight road bike.
