Dean Titanium Bicycles has been busy updating their range of bikes and adding steel as an option. Fortunately, that didn’t stop them from putting together a one-off commuter show bike.
Even more fortunately, they’ll be offering it for sale. Called the Townie, it uses a split down- and top tube with internal routing for the brakes and rear internally geared hub.

Dean’s Colonel hardtail mountain bike gets updated frame with curvier top tube, BB30 and 44mm headtube.
It’s also now available with Di2 set up from K-Edge.
The Ace gets 3″ of rear wheel travel with a belt drive and Rohloff hub.
The lower pivot is concentric with the BB so there’s no chain growth, which allows the use of the Gates Belt Drive.
The El Diente Super-Lite is a new version of their road frame that comes in around 2.38 (1,070g) pounds. They saved weight by increasing the tubing diameters throughout the frame but reduced wall thickness.
Internally, the vent holes between tubes are cut larger, and they drilled out the dropouts. Retail is about $3,200 with full custom sizing.
Long a titanium builder only, Dean is now offering steel bikes, too. The road bike will retail for $1,200 with custom sizing and paint.
