Seven Cycles’ Evergreen SL was turned into this special edition Summer Scrambler for Summer Cycles, and nothing was left behind on this build. They also showed off an all-new full suspension mountain bike, and upgraded road bike option worth a look. But first, gravel…
Designed as the “ultimate SoCal gravel bike”, the Summer Scrambler uses titanium top- and seat tubes to mute road noise, but relies on 3/2.5 titanium tubes everywhere else. The headtube is trimmed externally to save a few grams, then filled with their own carbon Matador all-road fork, which is available separately.
Down low, if you can get past the colorful pink and blue paint and anodized component collection, is the real eye catching part of the bike. A dropped drive side chainstay allows more tire and chainring clearance. What makes it so clean looking, though, is that the front tube continues the line from the downtube, so you’re not left with a bunch of random angles.
This show edition was fitted with a Chris King headset and T47 bottom bracket, I9 wheels and the Cane Creek eeWings titanium headset with a Dura-Ace/XTR Di2 mashup. Retail price? $15,499. But you can get into one with a more modest build starting at $7,699.
Seven Cycles Mobius full suspension MTB
The Mobius SL is not just a new bike, it’s introducing a new full suspension platform for them. Called Balance Control System (BCS), it uses a floating shock to provide smooth small bump absorption and big hit compliance. Another benefit of the floating shock? They say it minimizes stresses on the frame, so you’ll see less wear and tear and longer life out of your custom ti mountain bike.
It’s based on a four-bar linkage, then given sealed cartridge bearings all around. Travel is 120mm, aimed at the XC to light trail rider.
The bike itself uses double butted 3/2.5 ti tubing and comes in at a claimed 4.9lb frame weight. This build with SRAM XO1 Eagle is around 25.9lb without pedals.
The “Rocketship” paint scheme is by Multimedia Color Technique.
They’re offering a limited run, order before March 31 to get in on this special build and finish. It’s $14,895 as shown, but packages you can buy range from $9.695 up to $12,695 without the Rocketship paint…that’ll add another $2,200.
Seven Cycles Ultimate Axiom road bike
The Ultimate Axiom road bike is their lightest, highest performance disc brake road bike, and now they have a special “XX” edition that shaves more weight. To do that, they enlarge the internal breathing holes in the tubes, perform additional butting and machining, and give you a few more options at the back.
Little things like external machining on the headtube at the front cut grams.
An internal seatpost binder is another way to save weight, and the top packages include custom butted and relieved 30.9 seatposts. These, they say, are as light as 27.2, but stiffer, and each one is custom made for the rider based on their weight, etc.
The stays can be had in several configurations, some more bent and shaped than others to improve rear wheel traction and compliance. Their asymmetric Fastback dropouts save 60g compared to other options.
Like the Mobius, this one has three special edition builds you can only order through March 31, 2019, check their website for all the details. Prices start at $7,195 and run up to $15,745.
