NAHBS 2010 – Brooks England introduced their new Oxford rain cape for cyclists. Cut of treated cotton, it’s water repellant properties permanent and it’s designed to cover your legs, keeping casual cyclists properly dry while commuting. See how, along with other nice features and pricing, plus a new color for their messenger bag, after the break…
The striping on the front and sleeves, as well as the bottom straps and hood brim, are reflective.
Two front straps wrap around your handlebar to extend the cape over your legs. There’s a magnet at the end of the strap that holds onto a magnet at the seam of the cap, so it’ll hold itself in place, but release quickly and safely in the event you take an unfortunate tumble.
The front zips up to create a full hood with chin protection.
The Oxford comes with proper folding instructions to end up with the rear panel exposed, allowing you to strap it directly to your Brooks saddle when the sun comes out.
The Oxford will retail for $300 and should be available early Summer…just after the rainy season.
Brooks also showed off this new lime/khaki color for their messenger bags. MSRP is $380, and word is there’s a $1,000 all leather version coming soon.
