NeilPryde Bikes is kicking off their custom paint program and moving their consumer sales into independent bike shops.
When we reviewed the bike last year, one of the sore subjects we heard was that everything was direct to consumer, cutting out the local bike shop. NeilPryde must’ve heard the concerns, too, because starting this September, all sales will be exclusively through IBD’s. They will be at Interbike in September, so check them out if you’re interested.
And, supposing you’re not thrilled with their standard matte carbon or blue/white/black paint schemes, both of which are quite handsome in person, you can use their online custom color generator to design your own paint mix. It’s super easy – took me all of 20 seconds to create the (gorgeous) blue/orange/white Bikerumor colorway above. Besides passing the time at work, it lets you email or print your scheme with a code to take to your shop to place the order. There’s a $150 USD upcharge and lead time is about 75 days.
In other news…
Unfortunately, the peacock scheme in the banner isn’t quite possible with their program, but close.
They also have a new offset seatpost for the Alize that creates a 78º seat angle for triathlon and TT. It’s a $175 aftermarket option and has the same aero shape as their standard seatpost.
