Since returning from Sea Otter, we’ve been talking up Tony Ellsworth, trying to get our hands on some of his new XC and AM wheels for review.  The XC set comes in just a hair over 1,400g, which is darn light, and we have detailed photos and specs on those in another post.  Unbeknownst to us, though, was that he also has a new 29er version coming out with the 26ers.  Here are pics from Tony’s phone and his own words:
“Here they are dirty from a night ride. These wheels and tubeless set up dropped a pound off my bike…of rotating mass, and increased my directional control! The wheels roll fast, and go right where pointed….
I’m proud of what I set out to accomplish. I spend tons of time making little tweaks on the frames to steadily enhance the traction, control and ride quality of the frames… Wheels are the “missing” link for translating all that attention to detail RIGHT to the ground from the frame. The Ellsworth Wheels allow the rider of any bike to get the most out of their frame’s performance.
If you ride an Ellsworth with some other wheelset, you could be surprised what you were missing.
The Revision 3 Ellsworth Wheels will be in stock in two to three weeks.
The solar-paneled building in the background is the Ellsworth factory / warehouse. Loosely related:  Check out Pua Sawicki’s 21.1lb Ellsworth Truth race bike and full component list here, or hit ‘more’ for two more photos from Tony…
