Using the tired quote “If you build it, they will come,” for any reason, is only a notch-on-the-totem-pole-of-lameness below saying “It’s like that Bill Murray movie, Groundhog Day” to describe something that’s repetitive. So I’m not going to say anything like: “If you build it they will come, and if you buy a bag with 2,000 cubic inches, you will fill every one of them.” Because that would be lame and I’d have to go self-flagellate my…self with a rusty 10 speed chain until I had thoroughly vanquished any urge to quote Kevin Costner movies ever again. It’s true though — if you buy a bag thinking you’ll have “extra” space for when you need it, your clever plan will invariably backfire, and you will find yourself perpetually overfilling your bag, lugging around changes of red leather chaps, tupperware containers full of borscht, and bench vises (if you’re anything like me), day after day* until your vertebrae are lying in a shattered pile and the area that once hosted your reproductive organs is as unrecognizable as Pamela Anderson’s face after her last round of plastic surgery.

And that is exactly what the folks at Rickshaw Bags in San Francisco were thinking when they came up with their new line of “Skinny” bags. They’ve got a Skinny Commuter Lap Top bag, a Skinny Backpack, and a Mini Commuter bag. And we’ve got prices and specs after the break.

Yikes! Those colors are making my eyes bleed. Would be interested in one if they had it in a non-Teletubby color.
