Topeak had a variety of new accessories, tools and other gear on hand at Sea Otter.
Above, the Journey Trailer and Dry Bag has an alloy frame and 16″ wheel with an included, sonically welded roll-top dry bag that doubles as standalone luggage. The frame has an integrated thin plastic bottom, so you can use it without the bag for larger items, too. It uses a quick release attachment on an extended QR skewer that’ll work with 130mm or 135mm spacing and 26″ or 700c/29er wheels.
More on that and their new pumps, iPhone mounts, saddle bags and more after the break…
The arms mount directly to the skewer attachments, keep it far enough back to avoid heel clearance issues and allow it to work with disc-brake equipped bikes. The black part rests on the axle, then the yellow bit slides forward to lock it on. The frame is very sturdy with oversized tubing. Recommended weight limit is around 70lbs of cargo. The rear fender keeps muck from splattering on your stuff and has a light clip built in so you can easily attach a blinky, and it also comes with a bright yellow safety flag that attaches to the rear. Trailer weight is about 10.7lbs, bag adds 3.5lbs.
The new Joe Blow X.O. is a shiny machined alloy floor pump that’ll push up to 200psi into your tires. Like it’s mini pumps, it gets a variation of their SmartHead threadlock valve head to work with both Presta and Schrader. Base and handle are machined and it has an extra long braided metal hose to help reach bikes mounted in the workstand.
The RaceRocket MT is their new mountain bike specific mini-pump. It has a larger diameter barrel to pump up large volume tires quicker and will go to 90psi. I like the design with the extending flexible hose, which was reviewed recently here on the standard RaceRocket. Claimed weight is 114g.
