Along with the other cool new Keen stuff from Interbike, the Coronado Cruiser is a new Spring / Summer shoe that’s designed specifically for cycling.
It takes the same basic form as their Coronado shoes, but adds a 3/4 length plate through the sole for better energy return and mid-foot support and a soft rubber forefoot for better pedal grip. Other features (shared with the Coronado) are a non-marking rubber outsold, vulcanized eco-friendly construction, recycled aluminum eyelets and natural canvas upper. The Cruisers get a sweet Nubuck leather panel above the toes, which the bipedal versions don’t have.
Men’s and women’s styles will be available in January. Men’s will come in either Dark Earth/Brindle (shown) or Black/Black and come in sizes 7 – 14 (half sizes thru 12). The Women’s will be available in Black/Black (some pink detailing) and Simple Taupe/Brindle (some light blue accents) and come in 5 – 11 (half sizes thru 11). MSRP $80.
Actually, in the photos we took at Interbike, there was a third color on display for Men’s. Hmmm…
