For 2010, Lynskey changed up the geometry a bit and put a curve in the top tube to increase fork clearance on their popular Ridgeline 29er frame.

With the geometry, they raised the BB height a tiny bit and slackened the headtube from 0.5º to 1º to shorten the trail of the fork.  Before, they were very quick handling, so the head angle changes help increase stability and give them a more controlled feel.

It’s a formed, cold-worked Ti tubeset, but doesn’t get the Helix tubing and butting of the Pro29, allowing them to offer a more recession-friendly Ti 29er.  Hit ‘more’ for additional photos, specs, pricing, weights and availability…

The Ridgeline 29 is available in two versions, the VF and SL.  The VF (Vertical Fixed) is a fixed-dropout frame for geared bikes.  The SL (Slider) has these interchangeable sliding dropouts that can accommodate single-speed and geared setups depending on which dropout you use.

The SL is available now, the VF is in production currently and should be ready to ship within a week.  Lynskey says about 70% of the Ridgeline 29 frames sold are SL’s.

Lynskey’s bikes are made in Tennessee, USA.

Previously, Lynskey designed the geometry around an 80mm travel fork, however limited fork options (Fox’s F29 only came as a 100mm travel fork), forced them to rethink things.  The new bent downtube allows for up to a 100mm travel fork and better accommodates forks with tall adjustment knobs.  Houseblend (ie. Standard) frames come with an 1-1/8 straight headtube, but custom options can spec tapered setups.

The cold-worked downtube widens at the bottom bracket to provide better power transfer.

If you’re looking for a complete bike, they’re working on it.  Lynskey plans to offer several packages on each of their 29er frames sometime in the next month…we’ll keep you posted.
