BIKERUMOR.com 2009 SEA OTTER CLASSIC COVERAGE: Truvativ launched several new components at Sea Otter, including all new NOIR World Cup and Team level carbon fiber seatposts, as well as newly designed Stylo alloy seatposts.  Both have 0 and 25mm offset options.  The WC and Team carbon posts use a new filament wound design with nice internal buttressing (pics after the break).
They also launched new, lightweight Stylo World Cup, Team and Race stems and a new Freeride / Downhill handlebar called the BooBar.  The video covers it all, and we’ve got lots of pics and details after the break (hit ‘more’ to see them)…
ÂÂ
The World Cup edition gets the rainbow stripes incorporated into the logo so everyone knows how fast you are.
The filament wound carbon tubes on the NOIR posts have internal reinforcements.  The goal with these designs is to let the posts “fail well” in the event of a break.  In otherwords, they should give you some indication that something’s wrong before you experience catastrophic failure, as can happen with carbon components.
Shown here on the Stylo Race, the 25mm set back should let you get about as far back as you’d want.
Both the Stylo and NOIR seatposts use the same dual bolt seat clamp design.  The differences lie in the materials.  NOIR World cup posts get 6-4 Titanium hardware, the NOIR Team gets Steel hardware.  There’s only a 5g weight difference between the two, but a $28 price gap.
The Stylo Team is a one-piece 3D forged 7050 alloy design, and the Stylo Race gets a 6061 head and shaft. Seat post options include:
- NOIR World Cup: 27.2 / 30.9 / 31.6 diameters, 400mm length, 215g, $144
- NOIR Team: 27.2 / 30.9 / 31.6 diameters, 400mm length, 220g, $116
- STYLO Team: 27.2 / 30.9 / 31.6 diameters, 400mm length, 260g, $55
- STYLO Race: 27.2 / 30.9 / 31.6 diameters, 350 and 400mm length, 300g, $27
If you’re not using their twist shifters, SRAM’s got these Truvativ grips in red and white with alloy lock rings.
The Truvativ Stylo stems get a thorough redesign.  They use a new front clamp design and a two-bolt steerer tube clamp.  The World Cup edition is available in both black and “Snow White”, and, like the seatposts, the only difference between the WC and the Team editions is Ti bolts versus steel.  Otherwise, they’re both 3D forged 7050 alloy and have the same size options.
The Stylo Race (top) is 6061 alloy and has a slightly different range of lengths.
ÂÂ
- World Cup: +/- 5° rise, 75 – 130mm lengths, $79 – $87
- Team: +/- 5° rise, 75 – 130mm lengths, $48
- Race: +/- 5° rise, 60 – 120mm lengths, $28

The BooBar is Truvativ’s premiere DH / Freeride handlebar.  It’s available in 740mm and 780mm widths and two color options: Tungsten Grey and Blast Black Anodized.  It’s a buttted 7050 alloy, weighs in at 270g to 290g and has either a 20mm or 30mm rise.  7º backsweep and 5º upsweep rounds out the specs.
