Castelli’s followed up their cyclocross skinsuit with these ‘cross specific Claudio bib shorts made to repel the nasty conditions of the sport.
They’re cut from Castelli’s soft, stretchy Nano Flex water repellent fabric and have been field tested by the Cervelo Test Team. The nano technology treatment helps water bead up and roll right off (pic after the break), and you can find this material on their Nano Flex arm- and knee warmers, too.
Inside, they use their KISS3 chamois pad with an anatomic form and variable thickness padding. It also has a “bacteriostatic” treatment to reduce the likelihood of saddle sores, something that’s a bit more of a concern when you’re racing in the wet muck then standing around drinking carbonated beverages after the race.
Mesh uppers help transport sweat to the jersey, a high waist helps keep you a bit warmer and silicone leg grippers keep the legs from riding up. More photos after the break…
