WASHINGTON, Aug. 20 (UPI) — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Nirve Sports Cannibal Bicycles due to a fall hazard.

Nirve Sports of Hunting Beach, Calif., has received two reports of stem failure occurring during the bicycle’s assembly. No injuries have been reported.

About 120 Cannibal “Chopper” Bicycles were imported from China and sold nationwide from December 2008 through April 2009 for about $600. The recall involves bicycles with serial numbers between L8E0300001 and L8E1001050. The numbers are listed on the bottom of the bicycle between the pedals, the commission said.

Consumers were advised to stop using the bicycles and return them to the retailer for a free repair.
