The New York Times Magazine published its 9th Annual Year in Ideas this past Sunday and among the topics touted as best ideas are bicycle highways.
While the U.S. has approved the concept, Copenhagen (of course) is actually making progress on building such a thing. A system of up to 15 paved, wide, bicycle-only routes connecting the suburbs to the center city. In a city where almost 40% of the workers ride to the office, the system is designed to move people on bicycles quickly, efficiently and safely.
We posted a story about Copenhagen’s bicycle highways here, and you can check out the NYT story here.
