While attending the MADE Show a few weeks ago, I got to catch up with Ortlieb and chat about their innovative new products. Since 1982, the German brand has been known for its innovative and weatherproof bags for both on and off the bike. This new run of gear is no exception.

There’s quite a bit to cover, so let’s dive right in!

Seems like a rip-off of Tailfin’s attachment system?

Folks have been making some version of this style mount for about 15 years. And the axle mount has already been done by the likes of Specialized and Robert Axle Project for longer than Tailfin have been around.

The front rack which fits to a Klickfix adapter works nice, it is basicly the same rack as the XLC front carrier for Winora Yakun 2 LR-F0 which has been co-developed with the guys from Hebie. Rear rack works realy nice.

Sadly it’s easily overloaded and not suitable for use off road. After breaking two handlebar brackets I have modded mine with some support struts to the fork. It does loose the quick disconnect option, needing two bolts at the fork, but works much better.
