Many of us fell in love with bikes as kids. This usually started with the neighborhood kids pressuring a friend to send it off a jump. Yes, there were cuts, scrapes, and bruises, and maybe the occasional broken collarbone, but these times were epic.

Some may call them the ‘good ol’ times.’ Patrol Mountain remembers those days and recognizes dirt jumping as a crucial part of mountain biking. It is where many mountain bikers got their start, and where they still turn to practice and hone their skills today.

And for that, some proper dirt jumpers are in order. Patrol Mountain has capped 2025 off by releasing the Patrol D-Series. Three dirt jump bikes — 20”, 24”, and 26” — make up the D-Series, one for each stage of life.

Patrol Mountain D-Series

Patrol Mountain uses 4130 chromoly steel for the D-Series, with each frame having 148mm boost rear spacing and “dialed jumper geometry.” The bikes feature a tapered head tube and are compatible with a gyro, if barspins are so desired.

Patrol Mountain worked with quality component brands in the industry to spec Patrol D-Series. Manitou provides the squish up front, with Circus Pro and J-Unit Comp forks. Alexrims are spec’d across the series, as are Maxxis Holy Roller tires.

Why put a 148 mm (Boost) rear hub on a DJ? Every DJ frame or wheel I’ve ever seen is either 135, or 142 if with a thru-axle.
