The all-new (but only kind of) Pinarello GREVIL MX is effectively a drop-bar mountain bike, but billed as a gravel rig. It’s a 100mm suspension-equipped, big-tire tire-ready (2.2 and up) gravel machine designed to go well beyond the limits of what traditional gravel bikes are built to handle.

Rather than tweaking an existing gravel frame, Pinarello started with a different question: What if we took the Dogma XC Hard Tail that Pauline Ferrand-Prévot used to win the Paris Olympics (plus XCC and XCO World Championships) and used it as an over-gravel jumping-off point?

Yeah, it’s hard not to notice the timing, given Pinarello’s long relationship with Tom Pidcock and his growing interest in high-profile gravel racing. But I would be shocked to see Pidcock reach for this when there are others in the Pinarello line that suit his style. Though if he’s planning to do more epic gravel races, this would be an excellent steed.

Dogma XC Hardtail + Road Bike Cockpit

At the heart of the GREVIL MX is directly from Pinarello’s Dogma XC playbook. A 67.75° head angle and 101mm of trail mirror the front-end numbers of the DOGMA XC hardtail.

That slack, confidence-inspiring front end pairs with the Pinarellos’ in-house, flagship MOST Talon Ultra Light integrated cockpit. The result is a lower, more compact riding position, and it should keep the GREVIL MX fast and efficient on hardpack and smoother terrain.

Up front, a 100mm suspension fork (a spec becoming rare in the XC world) adds trail capability rather than token compliance. Pushing this bike decisively toward the MTB end of the gravel spectrum, and the furthest Pinarello has ventured into these teritory.

Race-Ready

The GREVIL MX frame is constructed from Toray M40J carbon fiber. It features fully integrated TiCR cable routing and a BSA-threaded bottom bracket. Pinarello’s unique, ultra-stiff triangular BB structure is designed to handle the high loads generated by aggressive off-road riding and should translate well to gravel. While the brand’s patented asymmetric rear triangle reinforces the drivetrain side to balance pedaling forces.

Big tires & MTB Gearing

Pinarello optimized the GREVIL MX for 50mm gravel tires (or 2.25″ MTB). Suspension duties are handled by a FOX 32 Float Step-Cast Factory fork with 100mm of travel. The same spec you’ll find on the Dogma XC Hardtail.

Drivetrain spec leans heavily toward mountain bike territory, with a SRAM XX SL Eagle AXS 1×12 setup. A 38T chainring paired with a 10–52 cassette delivers significantly better climbing range than standard gravel drivetrains, while still offering usable cadence on descents and hardpack. Rolling stock comes via DT Swiss XRC 1200 wheels, wrapped in Schwalbe G-One R Pro 50mm tires front and rear.

Mech and Elec

Despite its aggressive intent, the GREVIL MX is designed as a flexible platform. It’s compatible with both electronic and mechanical drivetrains. It uses a UDH hanger and supports a 30.9mm dropper post. Plus, it can be paired with a MOST Talon XC cockpit for riders who want a more upright, trail-focused setup.

Pricing & Availability

The GREVIL MX is offered in Midnight Blue, weighs a claimed 9.04kg (size M), and is available in four sizes. Pricing is set at €8,500.

Availability is currently limited to 28 European countries and South Africa, with no UK or North American availability just yet.

Since this isn’t a Dangerholm build, I guess I’m happy for @bicyclepubes getting a design gig, especially in this economy.
