The 2019 Pivot Les Fat makes its 27.5+ spec official, bringing with it a fresh coat of paint, new fork options, and the most ridiculous promo video we’ve ever seen. The frame itself carries over from 2018, as does the rigid carbon fork and Swinger 2 dropouts. What changes is the stock wheelset, designed to highlight the bike’s speed and versatility…
First shown at Interbike, the new Les Fat is available from dealers with your choice of 80mm wide rims and 27.5×3.8 Maxxis Minion tires, or 50mm rims with 27.5×3.0 Maxxis Chronicals.
And with your choice of the stock carbon fork or the Manitou Mastadon fat bike suspension fork, which has the clearance necessary to fit the biggest and tallest tires.
The trick to the bike’s versatility is the Swinger 2 dropouts, which adjust both wheelbase/chainstay length and rear axle height. This lets it fit everything from the biggest 26×5.0 tires up to 29+ tires. The stock spec choice of 27.5+ or 27.5 fat brings it to a middle ground, offering a blend of handling, performance and monstrous grip.
The LES Fat is available one color option (Ice Blue with Steel Blue highlights). Complete bikes are offered with a Pro XT/XTR build, rigid or Manitou Mastodon fork options and 27.5×3.0″ Plus or 27.5×3.8″ Fat Bike tires with a retail price ranging from $3,999 to $4,250 USD. Framesets will run $2,499 USD and come with their rigid fork. Available now.
