Just in time for spring, Prevelo is coming in hot with a major overhaul to its most popular designs. The new Prevelo Zulu One and Zulu Two (mini-single-speed-shred machines) are now 15% lighter and introduce the brand’s new BALANCE-TEC™ system. A unique convertible design that seamlessly transforms from a kick bike to a pedal bike without sacrificing ride quality.

The New Zulu One & Two: Built to Grow with Young Shredders

Back in 2018, Prevelo pioneered the 14-inch and 16-inch kids’ MTB category, proving that young riders deserve more than clunky, one-size-fits-all rigs. Now, the Zulu One (14”) and Zulu Two (16”) push the envelope again with the inventive and clean BALANCE-TEC system ($19 add-on).

  • A self-extracting crank for quick conversion
  • Bottom bracket shields that double as footrests in balance mode
  • A chainstay key for tool-free chain removal and installation

Unlike other convertibles that compromise pedal performance, these bikes are engineered as proper trail machines first—with the option to strip down for balance bike mode, letting kids build confidence on the same bike they’ll later shred singletrack with.

Dialed-in Upgrades for Young Rippers

  • It’s not just about the convertibility—Prevelo trimmed weight and beefed up performance across the board.
  • Lighter build—About 15% lighter than previous models
  • Adjustable rear dropouts for precise chain tension and wheelbase tuning
  • THRU-TUBE seat tube design—increases saddle height range for longer usability
  • Hydraulic disc brakes—category-leading stopping power
  • High-volume Kenda Booster tires—traction and comfort for real off-road riding

The Zulu One (14”) and Zulu Two (16”) fit riders with 14” to 22” inseams, ensuring longer usability before kids outgrow them. For those wanting even more performance, Prevelo also offers the flagship version of the Zulu Two HEIR ($889)—a 16-inch hardtail with a suspension fork.

Where to Get One

The Zulu One and Two are available now for pre-order at Prevelo.com and through select dealers. The full Zulu lineup—including the 20-inch Zulu Three, 24-inch Zulu Four, and 26-inch Zulu Five—will be displayed at the Sea Otter Classic, April 10-13, at Booth B-19.
