Amongst the world of pro bikes, there live some that are just meant for play. By which we mean Thomas Vanderham doesn’t really race, but he’s about as “pro” of a rider as you’ll find. Making a living by just being rad, Vanderham shreds this Rocky Mountain Instinct 29er in front of the camera, but also plays a role in product development for brands like OneUp Components, Fox, Rocky Mountain Bicycles, Maxxis, and Shimano…which is where we caught up with him, at the launch event for the new XT and SLX 12-speed mountain bike groups.

Note that his bike is rockin’ new 2020 colorways, which are live on Rocky Mountain Bicycles’ website now! Check out more Pro Bike Checks on the Bikerumor YouTube channel!

Very interesting bike, but the bike check looked at precisely zero of the interesting/unusual things. Did you not notice the Work angle headset? And he’s using a Ride9 link on a frame that doesn’t come with a Ride9 link. Why? Does it change the progression or BB height?

How tall is he? What size frame?

What was the point of this bike check?
