Pure Fix offers several different direct-to-consumer track frames, complete bikes, wheels, and accessories, for reasonable prices. They’ve recently expanded their product line to include two new fixed gear bikes, as well as a whole new sister company – Pure City – which is focused on the commuter market.
Their new high end track frameset is the Keirin and Keirin Pro, which retail for $199 and $229 respectively. The alloy finish, pictured above, boosts the price by $26.
The entry level frame weights 5 lbs 14 oz, while the higher end frame shaves 10 oz, and weighs 5 lbs 4 0z. Both frames are constructed from hydro-formed 6061 aluminum, and designed to perform around town, or in the velodrome. The difference is that the Pro model features triple butted construction, while the standard model is only double butted.
Both frames include a 27.2 seat post clamp, integrated headset, and are available in one of four sizes – 49cm, 52cm, 55cm, and 58cm.
The new Coolidge model is the newest addition to their pro series of premium fixed gear bikes. It’s made from 4130 chromoly and comes stock with 700x25c Thickslick tires. The $450 complete bike is available in three different sizes: 50cm, 54cm, and 58cm. The rear hub is a flip-flop design, so you can ride single speed or fixed.
The latest venture from Pure Fix is Pure Cycle, which now offers six different commuter oriented models. From classically inspired frames to step through/dutch style/mixties, there is one bike that should appeal to everyone in the current line up.
The bikes are available per customer order as either a single speed, internally geared Nexus 3 speed, or 8 speed Shimano Acera with a 12-32 cassette. Each bike is finished with matching leather saddle and grips, fenders, rear rack, kickstand, and reflectors – everything you need for the street.
As with all their bikes, they are sold direct to consumer with a one year warranty, which is only activated if the frame is professionally assembled at a local bike shop.
