There’s a quiet resurgence happening in the pro peloton. While dials and ratchets dominate most race-day footwear, a growing number of riders are rediscovering the simple brilliance of laces. And QUOC’s M Pro Lace leans fully into that movement, pairing traditional lace closure with modern race-level engineering.

At its core, the M Pro Lace is built on the same Tour-proven platform as the brand’s M3 Pro (reviewed here), meaning it shares the exact same full-carbon sole architecture designed for stiffness and power transfer.

The difference? Fit refinement.

Lace Closure for Precision Fit

Instead of a dial system, the M Pro Lace uses a two-tone lace system designed to distribute pressure evenly across the entire foot. The idea is simple: a lace allows riders to fine-tune tension across multiple zones rather than tightening a single point. The simple but effective tool helps riders to eliminate hotspots and, in some instances, become more aerodynamic without a larger equipment change.

The fit of laces has a locked-in feel, but not “ratched in“, thats what we felt in the Escape lace-up we reviewed a few years back. Laces maintain comfort and stability, whether you’re sprinting out of the saddle or grinding through long endurance efforts, but with less of the wire feeling on the forefoot. Laces also offer fail-safe reliability, fewer moving parts, and a lower chance of mechanical failure mid-ride.

Race-Level Carbon Platform

Power delivery is handled by a 100% hand-laid unidirectional carbon fiber sole, the same platform used in QUOC’s high-end M series race shoes.

That construction aims to maximize stiffness and efficiency, translating every watt into forward momentum without unwanted flex. Despite the stiffness, the M Pro Lace remains impressively light, tipping the scale at claimed 245g in a size EU42.

Structured Ventilation

The upper takes a technical approach to breathability. QUOC uses a triple-layer aerated mesh construction reinforced with TPU, creating a structure that balances airflow and support.

The crisscrossed TPU reinforcement adds stability without adding bulk, while ventilation channels help keep airflow moving when temperatures climb.

Locked-In Heel & Long-Ride Comfort

The M Pro Lace features a sculpted heel cup designed to eliminate slippage, paired with a refined last and a padded collar to hold the rearfoot securely during high-effort riding.

Inside the shoe, a vibration-dampening insole with anatomic pressure relief helps reduce road buzz and fatigue over longer distances. Endurance riders should appreciate this addition during big training blocks or long days in the saddle.

Built for Real-World Road Riding

Durability also gets attention with a TPU toe border designed to resist scuffs and wear, helping keep the shoe looking sharp after months of riding and café stops. Compatibility is standard for modern road setups, with 3-bolt cleat support for Shimano, Look, and Speedplay systems.
