Just as the trails are opening up across British Columbia, Vancouver’s Race Face has announced their collection of soft goods for 2018. The company has added several new items to their line including the waterproof Conspiracy jacket, the packable Nano jacket (for guys or gals), as well as new jerseys, gloves and more. Whether you’re post-ride chillin’ or matching your ‘race face’ with technical riding gear behind the starting line, there’s something for all occasions in this year’s collection.
Men’s Conspiracy Jacket
Marketing copy can get pretty stale sometimes, but Race Face gave me a laugh with the tagline for their new Conspiracy jacket; “The plot may thicken, but your jacket doesn’t have to.”
Their latest outer layer is made from a lightweight, abrasion resistant, 3-ply Nylon. Its simple design forgoes drawstrings or Velcro closures and relies on elasticated hoods, cuffs and waists to keep the elements out.
Between the jacket’s DWR treatment and membrane, it achieves a waterproof rating of 10,000mm’s yet retains 15,000g/m2 breathability as well. Other notable features include fully sealed seams, bonded rubber elbow patches, a waterproof inside pocket, gilled underarm vents, and reflective logos.
The Conspiracy jacket is available in S-XXL sizes, and color options are Black or Red.
Men’s and Women’s Nano jacket
Race Face’s new Nano jacket is a lightweight layer that packs up into a pocket on its collar. This model comes in Men’s and Women’s styles (pictured above) which are cut differently, but otherwise share identical construction features.
The Nano jacket’s soft-touch ripstop Nylon outer is DWR treated for water and wind resistance. Its elasticated hood and cuffs plus a toggle adjuster at the waist allow you to cinch it down in nasty weather, while perforated underarm panels and a vented rear seam should keep you dry from the inside.
The Nano is a ¾ zip pullover, with a slightly dropped rear hem and articulated sleeves. There’s one storage pocket on the chest, and reflective graphics to keep you visible. The Women’s Nano jacket comes in Grey, Turquoise or Green, with sizes XS-XL available. Men’s models are available in Grey, Slate (blue) and Green, in S-XXL sizes.
Men’s Warden Full Zip Hoody/Bonx Jacket
Two new men’s items from Race Face’s Street Collection are the Warden Full Zip Hoody and the Bonx Jacket. The Warden is made from a polyester/cotton blend, and features a three panel hood. The white elasticated cuffs and hem match the zipper and drawstrings, adding a bit of color to the piece. The Warden comes in Black only, and sizes range from S-XXL.
Race Face’s Bonx Jacket is a button-up windbreaker made from a 100% poly outer with a cotton lining. The cuffs are elastic and there’s an adjuster at the waist to keep you well covered. Two hand pockets and one inside pocket provide some storage space. The Bonx comes in Black, in sizes S-XXL.
Men’s Ambush Jersey
The Ambush is a ¾ sleeve, relaxed fit jersey made from cool-touch fabric. Flatlock stitching reduces chafing at the seams, and a light mesh back panel ensures breezy breathability. The Ambush comes in Black or Slate colors, with fully sublimated camo graphics. Sizes S-XXL are available.
To match their namesake jerseys, Race Face has created new Ambush and Indy gloves. The Ambush gloves are constructed with an ultra-light mesh back panel and perforated Amara palms. The finger caps are reinforced, and the thumbs include smart-phone friendly conductive threads. The Ambush’s bonded cuff keeps things simple and low profile. Color options are Black, Red or Slate and sizing ranges from XS-XL.
The Indy gloves share the same construction as the Ambush gloves, but offer a lined pattern to match the Indy SS jersey. This model comes in Black, Blue or Hunter colors, in sizes XS-XL.
This article shows a selection of what’s new for 2018, but Race Face has also redesigned their Stash layers, Loam Ranger jacket, Indy and Ruxton Kits as well. Pricing is not listed online, so check out the website to find a Race Face dealer near you.
