Sitting around spending time with your loved ones, hiding off on your own to wrap some last minute presents, or even sneaking away to get in some last-minute shopping the day before Christmas. Why not drop that holiday madness, crack open a tall boy of egg nog and watch a bunch of crazies impressive & fearless athletes as they took on this year’s 11th annual Red Bull Rampage? For this who missed it back in November, NBC is reliving the Rampage in a rebroadcast this Saturday afternoon as part of their Red Bull Signature Series. Sure you can dig up who won on the interwebs, but no spoilers here. Instead sit around the boob tube with your family for 90 minutes trying to explain to them that this is totally normal, pretty much the same thing you do on a mountain bike and they should come join you for a ride once it warms up a bit. Catch a glimpse of the flippin’ maddness after the jump…

Let Red Bull add a little action to your holiday cheer. The Rampage claims to put the “mountain” back in mountain biking, no more racing around on manicured XC course. Exposed desert cliffs, crazy drops, and why not just build some kicker ramps outside of Zion National Park in Utah’s desert Southwest. Tune in for another look at the sport’s top big-mountain freeride contest in the 90 min Rampage special airing on NBC this Saturday at 3:00pm Eastern/12:00pm Pacific.

The only things that will separate a rider in the start gate from standing atop the podium 1,000+ vertical feet below are the narrow ridgelines, huge jumps, and the near vertical drops. But for those who step-up to the challenge of man versus mountain, only one will be crowned king of the hill. Who will it be? Defending champion Kurt Sorge from Canada? Can two-time winner Kyle Strait make it an unprecedented third? Or will Rampage regular Brandon Semenuk see his name listed at the top of the leader board?

Don’d google it, just watch.

Thanks! This could be perfect filler for a Christmas day while the kids run around with their toys.

What…no Claudio Caluori course preview? I’m sad…
