Rapha’s new ByBorre vest leverages the Dutch company’s advanced textile knitting & weaving technology to create an on- or off-the-bike garment literally infused with the Rapha ethos to celebrate the British cycling clothing company’s 20th anniversary. Knitted by robots, the Rapha + ByBorre vest combines a mix of natural merino and recycled synthetic fibers with Rapha’s founding principle actually woven into the fabric itself…
Rapha + ByBorre 20th anniversary knitted vest
“The ultimate performance and style with no compromise on either.”
– Simon Mottram on founding Rapha in 2004
The most technical addition to the Rapha20 line-up so far, this knitted vest is the latest collaboration between innovative Amsterdam-based textile maker ByBorre and Rapha, since their 2019 Pro Team Transfer collection. The fabric tech is much the same, using advanced industrial circular knitting machinery in an unconventional way to create 3-dimensional fabrics that combine a mix of natural and synthetic fibers into unique patterns. The dark grey vest has the Mottram quote woven in, while the light gray gets oversized Rapha script logos.
“Our collaboration with Rapha goes way back, and I’m excited that we were able to come together again to create something truly innovative. Through our digital platform, Rapha had access to our transparent textile supply chain, allowing them to create custom textiles that align with their vision while making conscious decisions throughout the design process.”
– Borre Akkersdijk, ByBorre founder
