Celebrating their 15th year in business, REEB recently announced the Re:Dikyelous hardtail, an American-made steel-framed MTB. The bike is not only a premium offering, but it is a very limited edition model with just 15 units slated for production. Given this bike will only reach a small audience, REEB announced a much more affordable version called the Hall Pass.
REEB Cycles is straying from their made-in-the-USA ethos with the appropriately named Hall Pass. Sharing many of the Re:Dikyelous’ frame specs and features, the bike is manufactured in Taiwan. The Hall Pass aims to deliver a similarly aggressive and versatile ride but comes in at a much more accessible price point. This should be an attractive option for those not interested in paying the premium for custom-painted, USA-made frames.
REEB Hall Pass – Frame Features

The Hall Pass frames are hand-built in Taiwan by REEB’s trusted manufacturing partners. The frames feature custom-drawn double-butted 4130 chromoly steel tubing, with an internal ED coating to protect against corrosion. This bike was named after Colorado’s Hall Ranch, where REEB has tested their bikes for the last 15 years.
Let’s start by checking out all the specs and features that are shared between the Hall Pass and the USA-made Re:Dikyelous frame. First off, both frames use the same geometry and are designed around 29” wheels and a 130mm fork.

REEB’s Portage Dropout System offers compatibility with either UDH derailleurs or single-speed conversions. The dropouts also offer 15 mm of chainstay length adjustment. 3-D printed stainless steel chainstay yokes offer generous tire clearance and help reduce the frame’s weight.

Key fitments include a 44mm head tube, threaded 73mm BB shell, and Boost 148x12mm rear axle spacing. The frame provides tire clearance for up to 2.6” treads, and uses easy-to-maintain external cable routing.
There is a port on the seat mast for routing dropper posts, and the Hall Pass frame fits 31.6mm posts. REEB says a small frame can fit a 180mm post, mediums can run 210mm, and L/XLs can go up to 240mm travel.

The Hall Pass is adventure-ready with water bottle/accessory mounts. The down tube mount has three bolts for added versatility.
Geometry:

The Hall Pass was designed with aggressive, modern trail geometry to offer confident handling and enough versatility for technical trails, long days in the saddle, or bikepacking. Small, medium, large, and XL frame sizes are available.
See the above chart for all the details, but key geo figures include a 65.5° head tube angle and a 75° seat mast. Reach numbers range from 425mm (small) to 485mm (XL). With REEB’s Portage Dropout System, chainstay lengths can be adjusted from 420-435 mm. Rear ends are the same length across all frame sizes.
Frameset and Complete Bike Options:

If you’re looking for a Hall Pass frameset, the kit includes the frame, seat collar, UDH hanger, rear axle, and dropout hardware. MSRP is $1299.
For complete bikes, you can select from six pre-assembled build kits (including two single-speed builds), or create a custom build from REEB’s many component options. Most build kits offer your choice between several forks, and REEB can supply OneUp flat pedals or Time clipless pedals if you’d like them included. As for price range, the highest-end ‘Trail Boss’ complete build sells for $6499. Check out REEB’s website for all the available build spec options.

There are two frame color choices for the Hall Pass – Pilsner (as seen in photos) or Grisette (metallic grey). The Hall Pass is available globally, but the ordering window has already closed, and deliveries are expected for early April. USA customers can still pre-order frames or complete bikes, with deliveries beginning in May.
