Kuat have updated their bicycle rack line-up for 2020, dropping one-bike add-ons for their NV Base and NV 2.0 racks. This offers a more compact and efficient way of carrying just three bikes to the trail head, instead of using Kuat’s taller 4-bike option. The Kuat one-bike add-ons have the same useful features as the NV Base 2.0 and NV 2.0 racks, including the integrated cable lock and the adjustable front tire cradle. Check out Kuat’s Remote Otter 2020 video below to see it in use.

Huge thanks to Kuat for putting this video together And for including the critical two-beer measurement. You know, for context.

Kuat Racks: NV Base 2.0 & NV 2.0 One-Bike Add-Ons

The Kuat One-Bike add-ons for the NV Base and NV 2.0 racks increase their carrying capacity from two to three 40lb bikes. They feature integrated cable locks and adjustable front tire scoops, able to accomodate tire widths up to a whopping 5.0″ and wheelbases up to 48″. The NV 2.0 one-bike add-on is compatible with the Trail Doc integrated repair stand.

Kuat’s hitch racks also feature a foot-assisted pivot system which allows you to gently drop the NV rack with a tap of the foot. Both the NV Base 2.0 and NV 2.0 racks are available for 1.25″ and 2.0″ hitch sizes, and come with an integrated hitch lock.

Pricing & Availability

The Kuat one-bike add-ons will be available from July 1st. The NV Base one-bike add-on will retail at $279. For the NV 2.0, the one-bike add-on will set you back $298. The NV Base rack itself retails at $599, while the NV 2.0 rack with Trail Doc integrated repair stand retails at $689.

What’s this Remote Otter thing?

Regular Sea Otter has been postponed until fall, but we know many brands still have new stuff to show off. So we asked them to make videos of their new stuff and send them in, and we’re sharing them with you so you can see the people behind the products and brands we all ride and use! Enjoy!!!
