U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Oregon) has noticed all the bad things cyclists in Portland are doing, and he’s smiling.
Well, that’s my interpretation of the recent NY Times story interviewing E.B. about how there are so many cyclist now in Portland that they’re using pedestrian bridges, blowing through stop signs and suffering from “bike congestion.”
That’s not the only case of rosy tinted glasses in the article, as E.B. is quoted as saying the global financial collapse is “perhaps the best opportunity we will ever see” to improve upon the nation’s alternative transportation infrastructure.
