Inspired by Lance’s first ever Giro d’Italia (assuming that pesky collarbone continues to cooperate), Cycling Fusion is a charity ride that raises money for Livestrong: Lance Armstrong Foundation by letting people raise money to ride the first five stages of the Giro d’Italia before the pros start their race.

Called the Giretto or “Little Giro”, the father-daughter team of Gene Nacy and Nina Wilczek put together the fund-raising ride.  Anyone can join in as long as they pay their own travel and raise a minimum of $1,000 for Livestrong.  In return, you get all local travel, logistics and daily massages covered.  A bilingual guide is also provided.

Global Ride gave us the tip on this event, and they’re providing a free set of training DVD’s to anyone that pledges a minimum of $103.75 to one of the riders.  They’re also donating 50% of the sale price of their DVD’s to the cause.  Global Ride takes footage of spectacular locations (Hawaii, Italy, etc.) and combines them with various coaches and additional fitness routines to spice up your roller or trainer time.
