Ritchey’s carbon 29er and 26″ mountain bike wheels have been updated since we saw them at Dealer Camp. For one, they have their production graphics. Much more importantly, they now come standard as 15mm thru axle for the front with an insert available separately to use a 9mm QR skewer.
Lots more on them and other new road and mountain bike goodies after the jump…
The 29er gets a slightly wider rim than the 26″, with a 26.5mm/21mm outside/inside width versus 25/19.5mm for the 26″. You can run them tubeless with a Stan’s or similar kit. Weights are 584g front and 712g rear for 26″ size. The 29er is 653g and 894g. All are 28 spokes laced 3X with DT Competition spokes.
New WCS Carbon Apex Clincher uses a Reynolds Assault rim with Ritchey’s Trifecta lacing and WCS hubs. They come with their CryoBlue brake pads, which claim to reduce heat stress by 20%. They come with ti skewers and weigh in at 1587g for the pair.
EVO Curve handlebar now available in carbon. Weight is 220g, MSRP of $299.95.
We heard word of this at DealerCamp but didn’t get to see it. The new LINK line of posts gives owners of Selle Italia’s MonoLink saddles options. The WCS Carbon Link FlexLogic Post above has an “isotropic” “anisotropic” carbon layup to give it a bit of vertical flex without lateral movement. Ritchey says it gives it 15% more compliance than their other carbon posts. The 3-bolt design allows separate fore-aft and tilt adjustments. MSRP is $239.95.
The new WCS Paradigm mountain bike pedals become the top of the line offering from them. Weighing in at just 225g, they chromoly steel axle with forged alloy body and roll on a triple combo of bushings and cartridge and needle bearings. MSRP is $159.95.
