Here’s some speculation for you:  TalkTriathlon.com observed that cycling phenom Robbie McEwen’s string of crashes and bad luck over the past six months could just spell the end of his career.  While there’s no quotes or citations to back this up, they stated that his team, Katusha, said the injuries he sustained during the second stage of the Tour of Belgium when he hit a flower tub, could be career threatening.
During the wreck, he damaged his left knee, cut ligaments and opened a deep wound, requiring surgery that doctors say would take four months to recover from…putting him out of the Tour de France for only the 2nd time in 12 years.  McEwen turns 37 next month, making him one of the more experienced riders in the peloton and around the same age as other legends like Lance Armstrong and Jens Voigt.
