Rotor’s new 2x Direct Mount Universal Tooth chainrings come in oval and round versions, and like all of their chainrings, they’re lightweight and stiff.

The “universal” part of the product name means universal compatibility with other drivetrains. Meaning, they’re designed to work with both 11-speed and 12-speed chains from Shimano, SRAM, KMC, Campagnolo, etc.

That’s actually a bit of an accomplishment, as many aftermarket chainrings are optimized around SRAM and other 3rd party chains…or Shimano. Rotor’s new 2x rings handle both with their patented design.

The chainrings are made from a single piece of 7075 aluminum, making their lighter and stiffer than double chainrings built around individual rings with a spider. for a 2x assembly you can have on your bike. Rotor says they’re up to 30g lighter versus a ROTOR 110×4 assembly, and they’re way stiffer.

Rotor 2x chainring options include 48/31, 50/34, and 52/36 tooth combos for both round and oval. MSRP is $247.10 each.
