New Roval Terra CL & Terra C carbon wheelsets bring high-performance within reach of more gravel riders with new lower pricing. There’s no shortage of wheels from the Roval camp, coming off the release of more affordable road and mountain line offerings. The Morgan Hill wheel manufacturer has been adding a new tier to their line-up – taking the top wheel from each discipline and giving it a lower-priced workhorse race build.

Roval announced two new gravel wheels to its ever-expanding carbon quiver. The Terra CL aimed at the racer looking for top performance without blowing the travel budget, and then the Terra C (similar to the Roval C38 wheels) designed for an affordable balance of performance and practicality.

Roval Terra CL, affordable race-ready carbon gravel wheels on a budget

Roval Terra C Wheels rim details

Similar to the ethos of the Roval Control Carbon mountain bike wheels, the Terra CL is a race-ready wheelset at a killer price. Using the same rim (the exact same) as the flagship Terra CXL, the Terra CL build starts on the right foot.

Roval pairs the 25mm internal, 32mm deep rim with an all-new DT Swiss 340 straight pull hubset, laced with DT Competition spokes. The build is the same approach as the Control SL and Control Carbon setup; use the same rim as the top tier wheelset, a solid DT 350 hub with a 36T star ratchet for quick engagement, and let it roll.

The wheelset is strikingly light for how robust it feels, coming in a respectable 1,407g —only about 100g more than the flagship $2500 CLX model. The Terra CLs arrive tubeless with alloy valves ready for action. Roval claims the rim size will fit a tire anywhere from 28-47mm wide.

The Terras even arrive with some replacement spokes and nipples if you get too gnarly on the road — a nice touch for sure. The wheels will cost you $1400 and are available for purchase now from your local Roval dealer.

Roval Terra C, an even more affordable carbon gravel wheelset

A rock-solid gravel build and only $1000 for the set, the Rivals Terra C is a perfect analog of the Roval C38, but with a wider rim more suited for exploration.

The wheel build starts with a new Roval Resin-Transfer-Molded carbon rim to maximize strength and material performance. The rim matches the 25mm internal and external spec of the Terra CXL and CL with a slight weight increase.

That 25mm tubeless rim is laced to a DT Swiss 370 hub with DT Competition spokes for a beefy build. The 370 hub is the new budget DT OEM option on the scene, essentially a rebadged version of the previous generation 350. It takes advantage of the Ratchet LN upgrade kit to get a classic 18T Star Ratchet engagement inside.

The complete Terra C wheelset with tubeless valves comes in at a claimed 1610g and $1000 for the pair — a crazy solid price for a wheelset that looks to offer reliable performance. Plus, Roval offers a fantastic carbon warranty program on all of their wheels that has you covered no questions asked for a couple of years.

Terra Gravel Handlebar

But wait — there’s more!

Roval Terra Bar

Roval now rounds out the last of their gravel component categories with the release of the Terra handlebar. This carbon, gravel-specific handlebar uses a carbon blend similar to the Terra seat post, said to have great road dampening qualities.

Roval Terra bar tops

The shape is a mix of classic and new super compact with egg-shaped tops for advanced ergonomics, a short reach (70mm), and shallow drop (103mm). The Terra handlebar boasts a 12° flare (which is hard to see in this top-down perspective) that starts in the drops as not to augment shifter alignment — something we’re thankfully seeing more and more these days so the tops of your hoods straight, like they were designed.

The Terra bar has a claimed weight of 200g (42cm) and comes in four sizes (38, 40, 42 & 44cm). The bar is Di2-ready and compatible with an EW-RS910 junction box on either end. If this ticks all your carbon gravel bar needs, you can get the Roval Terra handlebar at your local Roval dealer today for $275, including a lifetime warranty.

Am I the only one who likes the flare to include the clamping area of the hoods? I really prefer to have my hoods flared, it creates a much more comfortable hand position for me.
