Press Release: Over the past few months the demand for carbon fiber repair has been significantly increasing as the awareness for carbon repairability grows.

Recently I read about a gentlemen who bike tours in very remote regions of the world on a carbon fiber frame and fork. The primary reason was that he also carried a small carbon fiber repair kit that consisted of sandpaper, raw carbon fiber, and some quick setting epoxy. If he encountered any damage to his frame he could perform a quick field repair that could safely get him to the next town to perform a more extensive repair.

To date Ruckus has performed numerous repairs, to the extent of replacing entire head tubes, top tubes, etc.. Also a number of modifications have been performed to replace internal cable housing, install threaded inserts for fenders, racks, lighting mounts, etc.

Currently frames are inspected using a combination of audio feedback with spectrum analysis and a digital microscope. Ruckus is soon to be investing in a portable ultrasound machine ($$$$) that can peer through each carbon fiber layer of an object. This will yield a high-resolution digital image of a damaged area and further expedite the repair process. Also we are teaming up with a small paint shop to perform any repaints/decal/art work, engineers are not good painters.

If you or your shop finds the need for any carbon fiber repair or modifications feel free to contact me.
Take care,
