Minnesota’s Salsa Cycles is known for building some iconic adventure race bikes, and the Stormchaser gravel bike is no exception. Bult for adverse conditions, the versatile Stormchaser will be now available in four different flavors. Two singlespeed options, as a frameset, or a geared version that comes with front suspension.

Salsa Cycles says the Stormchaser’s name comes from “the bike’s perseverance on weather-wrecked gravel roads. It’s a bike designed to reach the end of the ride no matter what, and to do so without being completely ruined on the way. It’s no coincidence that many of the biggest gravel races take place in Tornado Alley.

Let’s touch on the different configurations that are available for the Stormchaser.

They offer two complete SS versions, for 1799 and 1899. The equipment looks identical, jut different colors. Why?

One is last year’s model and one is the new model. The price from year to year actually went down. Now the real question is, why not drop the price of the old model? I wonder if it’s a lagging update to the website or just an oversight.

70mm BB drop???? That’s less than most road bikes have these days.
