Scapin Ivor Naked Italian Made CustomHere we have the Ivor, a new release by Scapin. Each Ivor bicycle frame is custom-made in Italy for the rider from Unidirectional Carbon Fiber (Toray T800 High Modulus). The frame features an asymmetrical rear stay, integral cabling, name customization, and a lifetime guarantee. They say after measuring the rider, they’ll have the machine completed within 60 days. Aside from the frame, what caught my eye was the red componentry, the ISP seatpost clamp especially. They call it the “S-Way” (notice how it forms an S). Although they could have cut weight with a standard mount, this adds some shazaam.

Pictured above is the ‘Naked’ version. This version incorporates the SRAM Force Group Set with an FSA SL-K Crankset and the Red Wind XLR Dark wheelset. It runs € 6,080. By my calculation, it’s about $8,030. Click ‘more’ for a detailed image rundown of the ‘Naked’, an alternate version that runs $10k, a closeup of that ISP clamp, and a list of specs…

Scapin Ivor Closeup Gloss Matte NakedGloss black on matte black paint job on the ‘Naked’. The other paint jobs offered are blue, green, red, yellow, black/white.

Scapin Ivor Closeup Asymmetrical Rear Stay

The asymmetrical rear stay is said to be more effective for balancing pedal strokes. Also, this should help in keeping chain-stay stiffness.

Scapin Ivor Closeup Internal Cable

Utilizes internal cable routing. At the bottom bracket, the routing is covered from the elements with the “Inside-W” system.

Scapin Ivor Closeup CNC Components

Check out those anodized aluminum components. Style and function. This bike is chock full of it.

Scapin Ivor Closeup Press FIt Bottom Bracket

A press fit bottom bracket. Larger bottom bracket area equals more rigidity at this crucial point.

Scapin Ivor Closeup Compfort Flex System

Scapin’s rear stay is designed with a “comfort flex system”. The asymmetry should soften road turbulence.

Scapin S Way Seatpost

Components, including the “S-Way”, are CNC Machined Anodized Aluminum.

Scapin Ivor Closeup Name

Yes, they will put your name on it. Everything about this bike is custom. Robert Smith is one lucky guy.

Scapin Ivor Italian Made Custom

Featured here is the IVOR S1 – same frame, different components. It incorporates Campy Super Record Crank and Groupset along with the Mavic Cosmic Carbone SL Wheelset. Pricing is  € 7,390. By my calculation it’ll be about $9,760.

You do realize that Scapin has an “S” in its name and has been around for quite some time?

Isn’t Specialized risking bankruptcy again these days?

The Ivor uses Toray 800, which is the same tubing as many very famous manufacturers use on their off-the-peg frames, so the Ivor should be a custom bargain!
