I grew up riding BMX in the urban jungle and I’ve been out for a few big street jams, but we never rolled 400 strong! My town never officially recognized BMX as much more than a nuisance, but as of 2010 Los Angeles County has held an annual BMX Day to honor the sport’s 40th anniversary.
It all began on November 14th, 1970 when SE Bikes’ founder Scott Breithaupt hosted the first competitive BMX race in Long Beach, California.
