Today, Shimano North America reveals its new eBike drive units in the EP5 and E5100. The EP5 is designed to offer balanced power for daily commutes and weekend adventures. On the other hand, the E5100 will be targeted to “everyday eBiking”.
Shimano claims both of these units represent a significant step into the era of eBikes, empowering riders.
Shimano EP5 eBike Drive Unit
The EP5 drive unit is powerful, yet is said to be quiet. It boasts a sleek design and a maximum torque of 60Nm. For daily commutes or a weekend adventure, the E5 should provide a mix of reliable performance, value, and innovative technology.

Or, you can personalize the Assist Character, Max torque, and Assist Start in the BASIC Mode.

With “everyday eBiking” in mind, the E5100 is designed for smooth, natural rides. It sports a maximum torque of 50Nm and makes for a perfect companion for “piece of mind commuting”.
