Shimano just dropped a limited Aurora edition of their flagship S-Phyre carbon road shoes & matching sunglasses decked out in the green to purple fade of the Aurora Borealis. The shimmering turquoise, blue & purple upper changes colors depending on your perspective as does the polarized lens of the frameless shades.

The Aurora S-Phyre shoes share all of the same pro-level, light & stiff tech as the regular RC9s that we reviewed last year, and include the better ventilated synthetic upper we showed you last summer. So two Boa dials, asymmetric tongue, a full carbon sole, and real weights around 250g a shoe.

And at $400, the limited edition Aurora S-Phyre won’t even cost you any more than a bright blue or green pair. Only a couple hundred pairs of shoes will be available, and sold exclusively through dealers in North America, so act fast.

The same Northern Lights color scheme comes to Shimano’s premium $150 Aurora S-Phyre R frameless sunglasses, with color shifting Grilamid nylon temples and a matching polarized polycarbonate lens. Debuted last fall in full-frame & frameless versions last winter, the S-Phyre sunglasses promise a 26g light weight, comfortable fit, excellent optics & a solid value.
