Shower’s Pass Performance Jackets for Kids, with Proceeds Supporting Safe Routes to Schools

Showers Pass is bringing their premium tech, design, and fit to an affordable new line for Children, and donating 7% of all sales to the Bicycle Transportation Alliance to support their Safe Routes to School program, all as a part of their mission to normalize cycling as a safe form of transport for everyone. The new Little Crossover Rain Jacket, based on the adults’s Crossover, is designed for comfort and usability from bike to playground, with visibility a primary goal. In addition to just bright colors, it gets 3M reflective trim for driver visibility from all angles, even in low light.

Come past the fold for the full breakdown on the new jacket, its pricing, availability, and some background on Safe Routes to Schools…

Shower’s Pass has been a longtime supporter of the Bicycle Transportation Alliance and directly supporting Safe Routes to School will help educate local communities on how to get kids safely on bikes.

The Little Crossover jacket gets the same quality and some features of their more advanced adult jackets, but thankfully still manages to keep its cost down to a reasonable $70. The fully-taped hardshell uses a 2.5-layer waterproof-breathable membrane to keep dry no matter the weather. The jacket is lightweight with a relaxed cut, so that it can be layered for year-round usability.

The Little Crossover Rain Jacket features: an Artex™ Hardshell 2.5-layer waterproof-breathable fabric with fully taped seams, 360° 3M reflective trim for high visibility, elastic sides to the hood for a close fit with or without a helmet, an adjustable hem drawcord and bike-friendly dropped tail, adjustable velcro cuffs, and two hand warmer pockets.

The jacket is available now to buy on Shower Pass’ website in extra small to large sizes for kids from 4-11 years old. It comes in four colors: Fuchsia, Powder Blue, Rust, and Chili Pepper Red.

About The Bicycle Transportation Alliance
The Bicycle Transportation Alliance is a non-profit membership organization working to promote bicycling and improve bicycling conditions in Oregon. Since 1990, the BTA has worked in partnership with citizens, businesses, community groups, government agencies, and elected officials to create communities where people can meet their daily transportation needs on a bike. The Bicycle Transportation Alliance creates healthy, sustainable communities by making bicycling safe, convenient and accessible. Bicycling transforms communities by reinventing transportation and offering solutions for the universal challenges facing health, livability and the environment.

About Safe Routes to School
Safe Routes to School provides support for K-8 Public schools to get more children walking and biking to school. Walking and biking to school promotes health and well-being, clean air with less traffic congestion, fun and social time for families outside of the family vehicle. The Oregon Program recommends that children who walk and bike always wear clothing that helps them be seen, such as brightly colored outerwear with 360° reflectivity. SRTS provides support for schools with two national events: the October 7th Walk and Bike to School Day, and May Walk and Bike to School Month.
