We are always both amused by Claudio Caluori’s course previews, and amazed that he is able to communicate all of the course’s nuances while pinning it faster than most could hope. The Mont Sainte Anne preview is no different and in spite of crashing in the same exact location as last year, Claudio was clearly having fun on his bike.

Continue on for Fun is a three letter word, a 1000 km ride through the Dolomites, This is Peaty, and more…

From RockShox:

Fun is just a three-letter word for distraction. In this day and age of racing, you have to be focused, dedicated and willing to sacrifice anything that will get in the way of you and the top step of that podium. Fun may be the reason you threw a leg over your bike and charged it down the scariest, fastest and biggest lines you could in the first place, but fun alone can’t make you faster. Having fun on your bike may give us an escape from the every day mundane, fun may give you a chance to experience something that many are not brave enough to attempt, but fun can’t make you faster.

Troy Brosnan walked away from the last round of the UCI World Cup Downhill as the new Overall leader going into the recent month long break. He has spent that last month having nothing but fun on his bike. Exploring new terrain, challenging himself to new environments and conditions, pushing harder than ever…all in the sprit of fun. As Troy enters the next round of the World Cup this weekend in Mont Saint Anne, he will do so for the first time with all eyes on him – as the leader, not a follower. A leader who has been out having nothing but fun doing what he loves on two wheels. But fun can’t make you faster.

From Mavic:

After crossing the French Alps non-stop last summer, Mavic ambassador Mike Cotty prepares to take on his longest and toughest journey to date, a 1000km traverse of the Dolomites, Eastern Alps and Swiss Alps featuring 21 mountains and 23,000 metres of elevation. Watch how Mike and his team get ready as they embark on an adventure of new and unknown limits. The Road to Mont Blanc – coming August 2014.

From This is Peaty:

Lenzerheide is a new World Cup Round for 2015 and for years to come apparently… Being a part of the track development is a new and exciting venture for Peaty, but does he feel the pressure to come through and provide the riders fans alike with a memorable course?

Steve has been down about his last couple of results, so it was amazing that all his sponsors pulled together in time to create a new bike for him to ‘find his flow’ again… Smaller wheels and a rigid rear end means you’re at one with the bike and have a lower centre of gravity which = more grip. Honest.

On a serious note though, who doesn’t want a V16 to mess around on?!

There’s been talk for a while now of a new bike for the Syndicate… Most of the top teams and riders have been on 27.5 wheels for a while now, so as a natural progression it was only time until the team was going to be rolling on bigger wheels…

Check out some exclusive first ride footage from out in Livigno during a test session with the full Santa Cruz team and Fox Suspension.

All this and more in this months episode of This Is Peaty!

I dragged Remy out of the bike park for a day and into Gargamel on Cougar Mountain; one of the gnarliest trails around Whistler.
