Chris Froome gets custom yellow Sidi SHOTs for Le Tour. Photo: Sidi/Bettini

We spotted these and their mountain bike version, the Tiger, at races recently, and now Sidi has put together a few videos to highlight some of the new features. Called the SHOT, the new shoe should be light and stiff and introduces a new layout for their top level shoe by putting the retention dials on top. Shown above in yellow for Chris Froome’s Tour de France victory, you’ll get to choose between more traditional colors, including one that glows in the dark…

Full details aren’t released yet, but these first three teaser videos show the highlights. Above is video one with design cues, followed by the updated Tecno-3 Push system, and then the updated adjustable heel retention mech.

Who old are your shoes? I know you can send them back to Sidi america and they rebuild them for you and also buff and polish them to make them look new.

I used to love my Sidi shoes as well, until one day I was caught in a rainstorm wearing my Millennium shoes. After riding in a mile of hard rain, both left and right uppers had both separated (behind the cleat area on both) from the soles. For some unknown reason they must have used a water-soluble glue.

The only thing I dont like about my Dragon 3s are the treads, or lack of them. Baiscally road shoes with a few bumps on the bottom. Dont like them at all but otherwise they are da bomb.com

I love my Sidis but one disappointing thing about the company is their complete lack of customer service. It seems so strange for a company that positions themselves as ‘high end’.

The big problem is they seem to keep changing distributors in the US. For such a big market they really don’t seem to want to deal with us.

Sidi has had the same distributor for 3 years now in the US. After Veltec fell apart it did take a few years to get a distributor that could do a good job. Motonation / Ciclista America is a first class operation that has been the Sidi moto distributor for more than 20 years. Very well organized and they are doing a great job of keeping inventory.

Plus if you have an old pair of Sidi’s and want them repaired and or looking like new they are authorized by Sidi to do all the repairs.

Love SIdi, hard to find a shoe with as much comfort and believe me I’ve tried. However, I think they have missed an opportunity here, surely that glow in the dark finish would have been more beneficial on the heal?

I used to like Sidi shoes, until they changed the last and they became too wide for my feet. My absolute favorite pair was the rainbow colored mountain bike shoes that Tinker used to wear. I had a pair and loved them. They were definitely race shoes as they weren’t that comfortable to walk in, but they really looked cool.
