After launching several new products in 2025, Silca’s first new product to hit the market in 2026 is Hold Fast Carbon Paste. The self-proclaimed “leader in marginal gains,” Silca is already well-known for its high-quality bike pumps, multi-tools, immersion waxes, drip lubes, and much more. The brand continues to expand its ever-growing portfolio of products, typically with the goal of improving upon existing options on the market. That also seems to be the intention with its new Hold Fast Carbon Paste.

Silca claims that Hold Fast was originally developed for the professional mechanics of VISMA – Lease a Bike, with the goal of addressing the shortcomings and frustrations with other carbon friction pastes. According to Silca, “Riders and mechanics have fought the same frustrations for years: stained clothing, greasy hands, poor grips at low torque, and slipping components. Hold Fast was built to solve them.”

It seems like Silca is slowly but surely trying to take over your workbench with products like its Synergetic Race Grease and the new Hold Fast Carbon Paste.

Unlike some carbon pastes, which use a sticky, dyed grease base, Hold Fast uses a “clean silicone carrier” that’s free of both scents and dyes. Silca claims the silicone formula wipes clean and won’t leave stains or residue. Additionally, the brand states that Hold Fast includes up to four times more silicate friction additive than other carbon pastes. Taken together, this formula should mean less mess, more grip, and no slippage while protecting surfaces and eliminating the need to over-torque bolts.

Hold Fast Carbon Paste Specs:

  • Sticky, non-grease formula that resists sliding and migration
  • Three to four times more silicate friction additive than typical carbon pastes
  • Clear and dye-free — won’t stain fingers, clothing, or paint
  • Designed to meet the torque and grip demands of modern performance bikes
  • Ideal for cockpit and seatpost installs at lower torque values
  • Easily cleans up with SILCA Gear Wipes
  • Works on carbon, alloy, or titanium
  • Dielectric corrosion protection

Silca Hold Fast Carbon Paste: Pricing and Availability

Silca’s new Hold Fast Carbon Paste sells for $20 for a 100cc (3.38-ounce or 95.82-gram) tube. Hold Fast is available now on the brand’s website.

Not what this product is intended for. At all.

Ungreased fasteners are a great way to get frozen screws or bolts. Of course this Silca product has nothing to do with fasteners and everything to with keeping CF seatposts and handlebars from slipping. If you apply this product to your bolts, you might want to find a local school that offers remedial reading lessons for adults.

I’d call that an editorial mistake. The bolt on the left is covered in Synergetic Race Grease. Perhaps they meant to show the one on the right to sitting in carbon paste just to show a difference in appearance and consistency. But yeah, this product isn’t for bolts.

If aboves claims are to be believed, methinks the professional mechanics of VISMA would put the ‘additionally’, first. .. . just saying
