Silca announced the new Bourbon Titanium Cage + Straw Kit, a special edition package designed for “The uncompromising cyclist that wants the very best in bottle security, lightweight materials, and longevity with the classic look provided by a titanium bottle cage”. The only catch? It’s BYOB.

The kit includes two Sicuro titanium bottle cages, along with two titanium drinking straws (which are actually made from material that would otherwise go to waste from bottle cage production). Both are US-made from seamless 3-2.5 titanium tubing that measures 6.35mm in diameter. Each cage weighs 29 grams and includes 6-4 titanium bolts weighing 1.5 grams each.

The kits are available immediately for $175. Silca reports a very small production batch – but didn’t quote exact numbers – so now’s the time to buy if bourbon is your favorite color.

I hope they make a more exclusive version of this. At $175, the average peasant can have this in their 4bd/4bth shanty. How am I supposed to display my economic superiority to everyone when the average white collar schmuck can afford this.

Simply add more cage mounts to your Pinarello so you can have 8 or 10 of these.

What a completely honest statement that is absolutely devoid of pettiness and worn out assumptions.

They are nice but if you buy these, you are a sucker, plain and simple. You dont agree Robin?

I don’t care. I didn’t spend my time judging others for what they buy. I think its a waste of time and pathetic. For every person that thinks someone is a “sucker, plain and simple” for buying these bottle cages, there’s a another person, who thinks you’re a “sucker, plain and simple” because of something you’ve purchased.

Really, what’s the point of such judgments? To make the person regurgitating such judgments feel better about themselves or superior to someone else? Really, what is the point?

I’m fine with people buying and doing whatever makes ’em happy or whatever tickles their fancy so long as it doesn’t hurt somebody else.

this is missing “ecosystem” marketing compelling you to buy more cages for different locations on a bike, like the new Dawn to Dusk product highlighted also on BikeRumor.

Damn, I’d love these for my new Seven Sola+ with Chris King Matte Bourbon bits, but at $175, I’ll make do with what I have.

for $175, why even carry water?
Just hire a driver to follow behind you to hand out Evian at your beck and call.

Should include a bottle of William Larue Weller.

If Silca was really brave they would follow Vanilla’s lead and offer these for a limited time only, but saying that it’s a limited run, without naming the quantity, will do. That way if they find enough suckers they can do “another” limited run.

I think 4 or 5 bottles of Woodford Reserve would get more use.
